Come and hear updates from the Ulster County Office of Economic Development on the Ulster County Green Business Champions Program and how it can help your company become more sustainable.

The Ulster County Green Business Champions (UCGBC) program is a county and local business partnership and sponsored effort to accelerate the adoption of green, cost-saving measures by county businesses. The Ulster County Climate Smart Committee established this campaign, with the goal of helping 50 Ulster County businesses in becoming an Ulster County Certified Green Business in order to adopt measures that will have a meaningful impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions this year.

Ulster County has committed to uniting economic development and environmental protection through its Green New Deal. As the Ulster 2040 economic development strategic plan noted, meeting New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals will require upgrading our aging building stock to 21st-century energy efficiency standards and dramatically accelerating the shift to renewable energy and zero emissions technologies. These efforts promise a great deal of opportunity – to lower utility bills, create healthier indoor environments, and create many well-paying jobs
