What? Me Worry? : How Ulster County is Responding to Ageism and Exploitation

The Council is charged with sharing information and promoting a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by increasing awareness and providing public education to community members, as well as professionals. The OAEC has wide representation across Ulster County, including but not limited to health, human services, criminal justice, financial institutions, hospitals, assisted living, and nursing homes, as well as senior leaders across Ulster County. The Council is chaired by Michael A. Iapoce, Esq, Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services.

The OAEC is presenting a virtual informational conference on June 15, 2021 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. via Zoom.  The program is FREE to attend and will feature local talent including Susan Koppenhaver, Director of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; Ulster County District Attorney David J. Clegg, Esq.; Sharon Murray-Cohen, Senior Advocate and Executive Director at Jewish Family Services of Ulster County; and Bette Ann Moskowitz, Author of Finishing Up:  On Aging and Ageism.
